As you know I did my first real arm workout last Friday I’ve had a really tight left bicep so I haven’t done much in the way of training (apart from messing about with the kids).
It was starting to feel better yesterday so I went and played in a golf competition with a couple of other mates, but unfortunately woke up again this morning with it quite tight and sore.
The good thing about golf was we actually won which was a pretty cool thing. Below is a picture of our trophy.
I’ll be resting up again today trying to get the arm right so I can get back in to training. Worst case scenario is I can always do some work on my legs.
I have been completing the 30 day squat challenge and I’m up to 80 squats (yesterday) and tomorrow is a jump to 100 for the day.

Another week finished (and month), and I finished it on a high. After watching Fisher v Hendren complete Crossfit Open workout 14.1 I was pumped to get in to the gym and knock out a session.
Once I got to the gym I started with a 10 minute row to warm up and then proceeded to complete the following
3 x 500m row (quickest 1m48s slowest 1m55s)
3 x 15 quad extensions
3 x 15 hamstring extensions
and a superset of
3 x 15 leg press @ 40kg and 15 DB Thrusters @ 10kg (each DB was 10kg)
I finished the session with a nice and easy 2km walk back to the office.
I will be doing this session again for sure, but I need to focus on doing a bit more upper body work as my shoulders/ upper back felt every part of those thrusters.
Tonight I am going home to have a cheat dinner of tacos (one of my favourites along with my Daughters too) and have a relaxing night on the couch and watch a movie with my wife…I can’t wait 🙂
This weekend I will try Charlie again, but may throw in thrusters instead of the squats and see how I go with that (I want to start working on my weakness) and report back. I watched a video a while ago about a guy completing a backyard workout while mowing the back lawn. I will post the video up once I am home.

So the prologue of the Santos Tour Down Under has been run and won with a very tight finish on one of the most technical street courses I have seen in my time.
In what was a quick race two powerhouse Germans were too strong in the end with Marcel Kittel beating home Andre Griepel and Team UniSA – Australia’s (I am very much biased with this result) Caleb Ewan. The result for Ewan is huge in his young career considering the two giant Germans in front of him both have Stage wins in the illustrious Tour De France.
My pre-race pick of the win coming from a Team Sky rider was looking good with around 3 laps to go, but Lotto Belisol (Griepels team) really put their foot down and set up a great finish which was eventually won by Kittel (Giant-Shimano).
Tomorrow the riders will be covering 135kms from Nurioopta to Angaston in Adelaides Barossa Valley.

In regards to my fitness I am hoping to fit in a little run (I am really looking forward to getting back in to things next week already) tomorrow morning before heading out on the road for Stage 1.
